Hayden and Célia's Web Site

After a busy day we decided to take another theme park break, and headed to Blizzard Beach - one of Disney's two water parks, for the day. Based on the story of a freak snow storm which hit Florida (yeah right!), the entire park has been decorated in 'snow'.

These cable cars take you up to 3 of the park's rides - Slush Gusher, Summit Plummet and Célia's favourite, Teamboat Springs.

An undulating ride you slide down on your back. Yes, Hayden did do this, no, Célia didn't....

Yes, it's the daddy of rides! Although it looks as though you slide off the edge into the air you actually end up sliding straight down just behind the edge. As a bonus, they time you to see who is fastest, and while Célia watched Hayden seemed the fastest at just over 5 seconds!

This slide is pretty simple, race down and see who makes it the quickest. Unfortunately there was no way Hayden was going to get Célia down this, but it didn't stop him going on it twice. This shot was taken right after a massive summer storm which forced Disney to shut down all the rides for around 45 minutes. Luckily we managed to find shelter and kept dry.

An 8-lane race you go down head first on a little mat or 'toboggan'. Hayden won his race - hooray!

The little snowmen near the entrance. Neither of us can remember why Hayden looks so sad - maybe because the snowmen are in danger of melting in that heat??

After the water park we headed next door for a spot of putt-putt at the Winter Summerland course. Given the choice between playing a summer themed Christmas course or a winter one we chose winter. The shots that follow are of some of the amazingly well themed holes on the course. In case you're wondering, Hayden won.

And so we begin - hole number 1.

Hit the ball through the hole underneath the cooler box and these interesting contents pop up.

And another fun one - hit the ball through the hole under the fire and smoke billows out the top.

Oops, Santa seems to have had a bit of a crash landing!

Cinderella's castle made out of snow. Make sure to hit the ball through when the drawbridge is down though, or your ball will land in the water!

What's this, snow Mickey and Pluto having a little play!

And on the opposite side, snow Minnie.

Oh no, this person can't be a very good skiier as he landed head first in the snow!

Although Mr Snowman here looks innocent enough looks can be deceiving. Knock your ball into the hole and the minute you try to get it he splashes water at you!

The sweetie hole, looks very pretty but what a difficult hole!

What's that, Santa coming down the chimney! Hit your ball straight through when Santa's legs go up for the chance of a hole in one.

This hole is so cute, but unfortunately you're not guaranteed to get Mickey popping out of the box when you hit the ball through. We can't tell you how many times we had to push the ball through to finally catch him!

Although we didn't play it, we had a wander through the Summer course and took shots of what looked like the best holes there.

Probably the best hole ever seen. Get your ball in the middle and the pole carries it up and drops it straight into the hole!

Notice the sneaky little fish either side of the bridge. The minute you walk over they spit water at you.

After dinner we wandered down the shopping area, where there's a large Lego shop. This nessie is entirely made from lego, and actually sits in the lake.
